Artist's Statement: The FancyWork series developed out of a passion and respect for the labor of object making. The series began as a personal commitment to my development of an ancient technique, filigree, and evolved into a conceptual exploration of my affinity towards the meticulous jewelry world. I became fascinated with filigree's physical connection to handwork, thus I created forms that spoke directly about filigree's rich history in metalsmithing.
