SECOND MERIT AWARD ARTIST'S STATEMENT: I want to capture the gesture of a flower and to depict the energy and liveliness of a plant. I mainly apply anticlastic forming technique to achieve light weighted and three-dimensional forms. My jewelry has a very strong sculptural quality. These works were manually treated to achieve the snow white surface, and then I applied keum-boo technique to add a touch of sunlight on the works. The combination reminded me of the winter landscape in Finland. CONTACT: http://www.chaoandeerojewel.com |
