ARTIST'S STATEMENT: My work is an exploration of body ornamentation and sculptural jewelry. This body of work embraces a dialogue between the past and present by manifesting the sacred entity and the symbolic representation of the spirit of the object. It is about finding a connection between the spirit of the object and the memory that it encompasses through its creation. It is a reflection of who I am and my experiences growing up: my mother, my culture, my country. It pays tribute to the circle of life. We live, we die and we leave behind our history, work, and our legacy.
